Several people were killed and 40 injured today in a chain collision involving as many as 50 vehicles in the US state of Pennsylvania, officials announced.
The collision occurred 120 kilometers northwest of Philadelphia, the BBC reports.
Footage from the scene shows cars and trucks scattered across three lanes.
Motorists were advised to use extreme caution due to the cold weather and drifting snow.
At least 40 people have been hospitalized, three of whom are in critical condition, the BBC reports.
