Georgia Bulldogs: Carson Beck Lands On Preseason All SEC Team

Georgia BulldogsCarson Beck

Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck is going to be one of the most polarizing players in college football entering the 2024 season. Georgia has only lost one football game in the last three seasons combined. They lost to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship Game last season and it was enough to keep them out of the college football playoff.

This season, the field is expanded from four teams to 12 teams and they should be one of the teams in the field. To no surprise during SEC media day, the Georgia Bulldogs are predicted to finish in first place in the conference and right behind them will be the Texas Longhorns. It would not be surprising to see them as the top-ranked team entering the 2024 season. However, the only team that might be ranked ahead of them to start the season is the Ohio State Buckeyes from the Big Ten Conference. This is going to be an exciting college football season.

Georgia won 52-17.

The SEC went with first, second, and third-team selections for offense and defense on SEC media day. To no surprise at all, Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck is on the first team. Two other Georgia offensive players made the first team as well for the preseason.

Running back Trevor Etienne and offensive lineman Tate Ratledge also made the first-team all-SEC on offense. Carson Beck last season completed 72.4% of his passes for 3,941 yards, 24 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He also rushed for 116 yards on 60 carries and four touchdowns, along with averaging 1.9 yards per carry.

Beck has a great chance to be a Heisman Trophy winner this season. He is going to be in the conversation for the award all college football season long. Carson Beck is also predicted to be the number one overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

He would not be the first Georgia Bulldogs quarterback to be selected first overall in an NFL Draft. Matthew Stafford was selected number one overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2009 NFL Draft. The game ended in a tie.

A few teams that could be in the sweepstakes for him in the 2025 NFL Draft are the New York Giants, the Las Vegas Raiders, the Tennessee Titans, and the Carolina Panthers. With Beck being on the All-SEC preseason first team now, it will not be a surprise to see him on the All-SEC first team by the end of the 2024 college football season because he will be one of the best quarterbacks in college football this season.
