The USA TODAY Sports Network unveiled its 2024 Big Ten football preseason poll on Monday in advance of conference media days this week in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The poll includes input from writers from across the conference, including the IndyStar’s Nathan Baird, Detroit Free Press’ Tony Garcia, Columbus Dispatch’s Joey Kaufman and Bill Rabinowitz, Lafayette Journal & Courier Sam King, Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel’s Jeff Potrykus and Des Moines Register’s Tyler Tachman.

It is a first look at the new 18-team Big Ten Conference entering what will be a fascinating 2024 football season. Newcomers Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington all figure to affect the conference race in some way, with Oregon having the best chance at actually winning it. A new dynamic will soon be created between the conference’s traditional powers and the new West Coast contenders.
In all, it is challenging to predict what exactly the new landscape will bring. Big Ten media days will give a first glimpse, but nothing can be decided until the games kick off in August and September.
