The Ohio State football program is still focused on finishing out the 2025 recruiting class with a strong push. August is going to be a big month for that. They have the top recruiting class at the moment but are holding a slim lead over Alabama for that distinction.
While they are trying to finish out 2025, they still have to keep their eyes on the future classes as well. It won’t be long before they turn their full attention to the 2026 recruiting class. One of the top prospects in that class is already eyeing a visit to Columbus.
Five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart is looking to take a visit. Stewart is the second-best recruit in the entire class and is out of New Orleans. He’s a massive guy, standing at 6’6 and 270 pounds. Putting him at defensive tackle would be great for the Buckeyes.
It’s unclear when he will schedule a visit yet, but he will be making a trip to campus at some point. He already has visits scheduled to USC, Texas, and his home-state school LSU. If the Ohio State football program wants to land him, they will have to beat out some of the best programs in the country for him.
Stewart’s sheer size makes him an attractive prospect at the collegiate level. Larry Johnson would be able to do wonders with him if he were to choose Ohio State. Stewart’s rise up the recruiting boards is because of some camp performances. He’ll be able to show just how good he is in pads this Fall.
Right now, the Buckeyes have only one recruit for the 2026 class. That’s five-star receiver Chris Henry Jr. While there’s no indication that Stewart will be committing soo, adding him early to the class would be a really nice start to that recruiting class.
