Washington Commanders News: Major Front Office Figure Leaving Team After 2024 NFL Season (REPORT)

The Washington Commanders news has not been too hot as of late but there is a report going around about some major shake-ups in the front office after this upcoming season. Washington Post NFL reporter Nick Jhabvala is reporting that Washington Commanders’ president Jason Wright has been moved out of his role and will be leaving the team after the 2024 NFL season.

Jason Wright has been one of the faces of the Washington Commanders’ public turnaround. He was the first Black team president in NFL history, but is out of the president role effectively immediately before officially departing by the end of the season.

Wright is going to assume the title of senior adviser while maintaining the responsibilities as the de facto president. Owner Josh Harris and Tad Brown will be heading the search for the Commanders’ next president.

This Washington Commanders news seems to be coming out of left field after being part of the team’s reset but Jason Wright was thankful in a written statement to The Washington Post.

“This feels like the right moment for me to explore my next leadership opportunity. I’m extremely grateful to my Commanders colleagues, our fans and this community for all that we have accomplished these past four years, and am looking forward to the start of a very successful season for the Burgundy and Gold.”

It will be interesting to see how the Washington Commanders news goes about addressing this situation as it appears there are some changes about to happen.

This Washington Commanders news comes out of left field a bit but this could mean a lot of things could be changing for the organization. The departure of a team president is massive for the structure of the front office as a main pillar is now gone.

How does that affect job security for general manager Adam Pearce or the coaching staff that has just been in place? It will be an interesting number of months in Washington DC now outside of the political sector.
