Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee gives a speech at the 2024 RNC in Milwaukee

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee was among several notable Republicans to speak during Day 2 of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on July 16.

Re: “At RNC, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee calls school choice the ‘civil rights issue of our time’,” July 16.

Gov. Bill Lee continues barking his claim that school vouchers are all about choice.

Hogwash. Unless his notion of “choice” is deceptive.  Which it is.

What vouchers do is take money away from public schools, money those schools need.

They also give parents more ability to indoctrinate their children with a distorted view of Christianity, and its adulterous relationship with MAGA conservatives.

Finally, they effectively deprive children from low-income homes of an opportunity to get a quality education.

Shame on him, and those who gobble up his blather.
