This week, the Washington State women’s basketball program announced the signing of a sixth member of their 2024-2025 signing class.
Point guard Jean Chiu, who played the last three seasons in Taiwan at the University of Taipei, rounds out the Cougars’ team for the upcoming season.
Head coach Kamie Ethridge called Chiu “a true pass-first point guard that plays as fast as anyone I have ever coached.”

Of the Taipei national team member, Ethridge also added “her unrelenting pace, unique play-making abilities, passion and talent will make the 24-25 Cougar Women’s basketball team a MUST SEE.”
Chiu, who measures 5’7″ averaged 5.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.7 steals per game for her former college team last season, playing just over 20 minutes per game.
The 2024-2025 roster will now feature ten players from outside the United States.
Washington State enter their first season in the West Coast Conference in 2024 after a Pac-12 championship in 2023. The Cougars have reached the NCAA tournament each of the last three seasons.
