Star Ohio State Edge Rusher Appears To Have Opted Out Of EA Sports College Football 25

Penn State Nittany Lions, Caedan Wallace

College football fans can finally rejoice as today is the day of the early access period of EA Sports College Football 25 releases. College football fans have been waiting over 10 years for this day and it has finally come. However, Ohio State fans may not be as excited as they would be when they take a look at their roster in the video game. Leading up to this day there has been, a large amount of gameplay that has been released on the video game. In that gameplay, one of Ohio State’s star players has not been seen.

JT Tuimoloau Does Not Appear in the Early GameplayPenn State Nittany Lions, Caedan WallaceOct 21, 2023; Columbus, Ohio, USA; Ohio State Buckeyes defensive end JT Tuimoloau (44) gets up against Penn State Nittany Lions offensive lineman Caedan Wallace (73) during the first quarter of their game at Ohio Stadium.

When EA Sports released their top 100 players in the video game Ohio State edge rusher JT Tuimoloau was not featured in that top 100. This led to Ohio State and college football fans to list Tuimoloau as the biggest snub in the game’s ratings. However, when gameplay videos came out, people did not see the number 44 on the field for the Scarlet Gray.

It has not been officially announced whether or not JT has opted out of the game but we will find out whether or not he did today at 4 PM, when the early access period begins.

In the event, JT Tuimoloau has opted out of the game. Multiple candidates will fill in for him at the defensive edge position. The most likely candidate would be junior Kenyatta Jackson Jr, who got some time on a defensive season ago. Jackson is a big athletic rusher and shouldn’t be a liability for those using the Buckeyes in the video game.

Surprisingly, in some gameplay, we have seen linebacker CJ Hicks in that edge spot, though he is traditionally an inside linebacker. Hicks would certainly have the physical tools to play this spot but would be news for the Buckeyes if he was moved there.

While nothing official the gameplay seen to this point has been the beta version of the game. All eyes for Ohio State fans should be on whether or not number 44 lines up on the edge when the early access period begins today at 4 PM.
