A date more than a decade in the making finally arrived on Monday. The EA Sports College Football 25 video game was released, albeit in a limited capacity. It became available to those who had pre-ordered the deluxe version of the game.
The full game will be officially released to the general public later this week on July 19.

This release date arrives after NCAA 14 became the last version of the popular franchise due to ongoing litigation surrounding the NCAA’s name, image and likeness rules. Those rules were lifted in 2021, which paved the way for a seismic change in the sport, plus the eventual return of the video game.
Wisconsin-centric preview work for the newly-released game includes a check-in on Wisconsin’s place among the top teams in the game, a first look at the gameplay and various rankings including where Camp Randall Stadium falls within the toughest places to play in the sport.
The Badgers enter with an 87 overall team rating — 83 OVR on offense and 86 OVR on defense. That slot is good enough to rank No. 18 overall in the game.

Those numbers serve as an overall average of the ratings of every player on the two-deep depth chart, slightly weighted toward the team’s stars.
For reference, we predicted those player ratings back in May. But here is a rundown of those actual ratings for the Badgers’ full roster in the newly-released video game:
