DENVER (KDVR) — USA Today released a list of the best hot springs in the country, and three spots in Colorado made the roundup.
New pool experience coming to Glenwood Hot Springs
The list was curated by expert panelists and readers who picked their favorite hot springs from around the country. Many of them have multiple pools at different temperatures and natural waters and minerals to help your skin.

The Springs Resort – Pagosa Springs, Colorado
Iron Mountain Hot Springs – Glenwood Springs, Colorado
Glen Ivy Hot Springs – Temescal Valley, California
Breitenbush Hot Springs – Detroit, Oregon
Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort & Spa – San Luis Obispo, California
Glenwood Hot Springs Resort – Glenwood Springs, Colorado
No. 9: The Spa at Séc-he – Palm Springs, California
Moccasin Springs Natural Mineral Spa – Hot Springs, South Dakota
Coming in at No. 2 is The Springs Resort, a natural hot spring in Pagosa Springs. USA Today boasts about the 25 mineral pools set at different temperatures and access to wellness activities like aqua yoga and balancing sound immersion.
2 Colorado hot springs named as some of the best in the nation
USA Today named The Springs the overall best spa resort in 2023 while Places to Travel named the hot spring one of the best this year.
Just after The Springs comes Iron Mountain Hot Springs at No. 3. USA Today said you can soak in 32 pools. The hot springs has an adults only WorldSprings area with mineral content inspired by the geothermal waters of Japan, Iceland, Turkey and other popular hot springs destinations.
Glenwood Hot Springs Resort came in at No. 7 with what USA Today said is the world’s largest outdoor mineral hot springs pool. It also just built a collection of new pools that range from cold plunges to hot baths with water features overlooking the Rocky Mountains.
Even in the summer heat, these hot springs are open year-round with cold plunges and cooler pools.
