Wylie signed a two-year deal with the Commanders last offseason, following Eric Bieniemy from Kansas City to Washington. Wylie’s first season in Washington didn’t go well, as he often struggled at right tackle. Wylie was like most of the Commanders’ roster last season, with many playing below expectations. Fans wondered if new general manager Adam Peters would look to replace both starting offensive tackles from last season but never seriously considered moving on from Wylie. Yes, Wylie didn’t always play well last season, but the coaches believe different coaching can help improve in 2024.

An undrafted free agent from Eastern Michigan in 2017, Wylie spent the first six seasons of his NFL career with the Chiefs, where he won two Super Bowls. Wylie started four seasons for Kansas City, with most of those starts coming at guard. His performance in the 2022 playoffs led the Commanders to believe he’d be a suitable right tackle.
