Sacramento Kings: Introducing Deonte Burton

If there’s any organization looking to ensure that the rest of the league haven’t left a major talent off the board in this year’s draft, it’s the Sacramento Kings. The Kings have already signed Eric Moreland, Sim Bhullar has tweeted pictures of himself signing with the team, and Deonte Burton has got a two year deal of his own in Sacramento.

The Sacramento Kings have reached agreement on a free agent deal with undrafted Nevada guard Deonte Burton, league source tells RealGM.

More from Sacramento Kings

Although Burton and Bhullar’s deals are most likely unguaranteed, in Burton’s case there is genuine cause to believe it could be much more than a training camp invite.

The Kings currently have only two true point guards on their roster in the form of Darren Collison and Ray McCallum. As a result, Sacramento are likely still in the market for another backup, and an undrafted rookie who they could send to the D-League for some time would be a logical fit.

So, let’s take a look at the strengths of Burton’s game, and try to establish if they’ll be enough for the Kings to keep him around in Sacramento.
