Harrison Butker has made a lot of headlines with the Kansas City Chiefs of late. Unfortunately, some of these headlines are controversial. He made some enemies after a graduation speech at Benedictine College went viral.
When he spoke at that college’s graduation ceremony, he encouraged women to find fulfillment in their household rather than in their careers. This caused a lot of people to speak out on this, including two of the most notable female athletes of all time. However, their reaction caused fans to back Harrison Butker more than those women. Williams Sisters Attack Harrison Butker at ESPY’s

Earlier tonight, ESPN held its annual ESPY awards show. During this show, Serena Williams and Venus Williams, two of the greatest women’s tennis players of all time, were brought up to the stage and made a speech. Actress Quinta Brunson also joined them on stage.
The speech encouraged everyone to support women’s sports and to enjoy women’s sports. However, it ended with a vicious shot at Harrison Butker, referring to his graduation speech a few months ago. Here is what the three women said to him:
“So, go ahead and enjoy women’s sports like you would any other sports, because they are sports.” – Venus Williams
“Except you, Harrison Butker. We don’t need you.” – Serena Williams
“At all. Like, ever.” – Quinta Brunson

As mentioned above, Butker spoke at a college graduation in Kansas, resulting in his speech dividing the country. Some women were outraged at what he suggested in that speech. Here is some of what he said during it:
“For the ladies present today, congratulations on an amazing accomplishment. You should be proud of all that you have achieved to this point in your young lives. I want to speak directly to you briefly because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you. How many of you are sitting here now about to cross this stage and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career? Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world…
Everything I am saying to you is not from a place of wisdom, but rather a place of experience. I am hopeful that these words will be seen as those from a man, not much older than you, who feels it is imperative that this class, this generation, and this time in our society must stop pretending that the things we see around us are normal.”

Fans Support Harrison Butker After ESPY Attack

Surprisingly, many fans were ready to defend Butker after the Williams sisters attacked Butker during their ESPY speech. Here are some of the most notable comments from people coming to his aid:
“I’ll take “Why ESPN continues to fail for $1000?” Imagine they STILL dont get it over there? As their stock price plummets yearly?!”
“He owns them it’s so funny”
“Without men like Harrison Butker these 3 people wouldn’t exist”
“Damn, the kicker is still being used at the butt (ker) of the joke still… I just don’t get it, it’s his religious beliefs that he spoke in front of a Catholic school… You don’t have to agree, but why attack his religious beliefs? Nah this turned me off”
“I’m sure he is heartbroken to hear this news from 2 dudes and a midget.”
“I’m sure all five of the people who watched the ESPYs thought it was a great joke. Congratulations!”
