Washington State’s baseball program continued their productive offseason on Monday with the signing of catcher Noah Thein. Thein joins the Cougars from Iowa’s Des Moine Area Community College. Thein appeared in 48 games last seasons with his former team, hitting .295 with 21 RBIs and 45 runs scored.
Thein also helped lead DMACC to the NJCAA Division II Region 11 championship, a North Plains District title, and the program’s first appearance in the NJCAA Division II national tournament since 2012.

Thein had verbally committed to the Cougars in June via X, but the signing now becomes official.
“I can’t thank DMACC more for two of the best years of my life, memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. With that being said i’m proud to announce my commitment to Washington State University! #gocougs #WAZZU,” he wrote at the time.
WSU finished the 2023 season with a record of 29-23 and missed the NCAA tournament. The Cougars had the eighth-most runs in the Pac-12 with 304. Thein’s offensive boost could help improve that number.
