The Wisconsin basketball staff has kept a close eye on the 2027 class, and could reach out to a raw prospect before too long.
Tref Rademaker, a 2027 power forward and center from West De Pere High School, has been a name to watch in the state of Wisconsin. Rademaker has been impressive on the AAU circuit while also putting in his own work to develop before next season. During a recent interview with Wisconsin Sports Heroics, Rademaker broke down how basketball is going as well as what he needs to do to improve his game and catch the attention of collegiate coaches.

One of the top rising Wisconsin basketball prospects in the 2027 recruiting class has been power forward and center Tref Rademaker. Rademaker, a 6-foot-8-inch stretch forward with dynamic post moves, has become a player to watch this summer on the AAU circuits. The forward will be making an appearance at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam, a prominent AAU tournament that often brings in the biggest and best recruits in each class.
Thus far, Rademaker has averaged 7.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game for Team Herro, including a 17-point outing in one of his most recent games.

For Rademaker, the recruitment process has not started yet, but the recruit has certainly been catching the eyes of coaches ahead of his AAU tournament. Rademaker has been noted as a top recruit in the state of Wisconsin within the 2027 recruiting class. The main focus for the forward has been developing his game before next season in hopes of truly shining and earning collegiate offers.
When asked about his recruitment, Rademaker stated, “I plan to continue to work hard on my game and work towards becoming bigger, better, stronger.” Rademaker, also a member of the Wisconsin basketball AAU program Team Herro and teammates with Donovan Davis, who holds a scholarship from the Wisconsin Badgers basketball staff.

While Rademaker may still be a raw prospect, he certainly has the tools to become the Wisconsin basketball big-man prototype. Rademaker has an extremely develop shot down low, but can also hit mid-range and three-point shots when needed. With a 6-foot-8-inch frame, Rademaker also runs the floor very well for his size and he still has room to potentially grow as father is reportedly 6-feet-10-inches.
Rademaker will be the first one to admit that he is still raw overall and has to work on certain aspects of his game. When asked, the recruit stated, “Areas to improve are focusing on better footwork and movement in defense.” Rademaker also stated that he needs to become strong physically to give him a greater advantage in the paint and when rebounding.
