Earlier today, a report from Action Network’s Brett McMurphy suggested that Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon is expected to attend Big 12 Football Media Days this week in Las Vegas.

Now, just a few hours after that report surfaced, the 2023 Doak Walker Award Winner and All-American running back has broken the silence after he was arrested last week on suspicion of DUI.

On Monday afternoon, Gordon posted a statement on his personal social media accounts, apologizing for the actions that led to his arrest just over a week ago.

“I am deeply sorry for the actions that led to my arrest on June 30th. I sincerely apologize to my family, everyone in our program, including our players, Coach Gundy, the staff, Oklahoma State University, and our fans,” Gordon said in the statement. “Regardless of the outcome of this pending investigation, I did not uphold the values I have for myself and the values of the OSU football program. I am committed to learning and growing from this mistake and I will work to earn back the trust of those who I have disappointed. Thank you.”

Per News9 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Gordon was pulled over on Interstate 35 south of Oklahoma City after a trooper says Gordon was going 82 in a 65 and swerving through traffic. A probable cause affidavit says the trooper who pulled Gordon over spotted a half-full bottle of vodka and a half-full bottle of tequila.

OHP says Gordon had a blood alcohol content of .11 and .10 when he was tested at jail. The legal limit in the state of Oklahoma is .08.

Gordon was named a unanimous All-American, the Doak Walker Award winner and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year after running for 1,732 yards and 21 TDs in the season. He had more than 250 scrimmage yards against Kansas, West Virginia and Cincinnati, the only FBS player in the past 10 years to do so in three straight games.

The Preseason Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year will join Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy, and three of his teammates on the trip to Las Vegas, with QB Alan Bowman, LB Nick Martin, and LB Collin Oliver all set to represent the Cowboys as well.

The Pokes are set to attend Big 12 Media Days on Tuesday, July 9, grouping them with Arizona State, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Kansas State, TCU, Texas Tech, and Utah.
