As Florida Football looks to regain its place among the elites within college football, one place to start will be landing the elite talent in the country. As Gator fans have learned over the years, elite high school talent doesn’t always translate to college success.
But when it does, like it did with Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin, magic can happen and create a legacy that will live on forever in Gainesville.
Brad Crawford recently put together a list of the 50 greatest playmaking duos in college football history. Florida had plenty of representation, with Mike Pouncey and Maurkice Pouncey coming in at 49th and Danny Wuerffel and Reidel Anthony coming in at 29th.
Coming in as the 2nd greatest duo of all time is the paring that defined the Urban Meyer era.

Both Tebow and Harvin were top tier recruits out of the class of 2006. Tebow was considered the top dual threat QB in the country while Harvin was the top receiver and the number two overall prospect in the country behind Andre Smith.
We here at Hail Florida Hail may be biased, but we could easily make the case the duo should be number one. While most duos on the list were great players in their own right, almost no one has complimented like Tebow and Harvin did.
If defenses wanted to load up to stop Tebow as a battering ram, Harvin could just run right by all of them. If defenses backed off because they were afraid of Harvin, Tebow was able to show zero mercy.

The duo would help lead the Gators to two national titles. Harvin had rushing touchdowns in both title games and Tebow accounted for three total touchdowns between the two games.
Harvin went pro after the 2008 season while Tebow stayed behind for one last season. And while Harvin wold go on to a better pro career than Tebow, there is no denying the impact the duo had together while members of the Gators.
