The Colorado football staff has received excellent news this morning after a top 2025 target received an expert prediction for the Buffaloes.
Quanell Farrakhan Jr, a consensus four-star wide receiver from Texas, is one of the top 2025 targets at the wide receiver position for the Buffaloes. The Colorado football staff has gotten off to a slow start in the 2025 recruiting class, currently only holding five hard commitments. However, Farrakhan Jr could become the sixth commitment as he nears a decision date.

The Colorado football staff has put a priority on taking their time and finding the most-skilled recruits regardless of star rating this recruiting cycle. Last cycle, the Buffaloes were burned by some of their ratings as they dropped later in the season. While things can certainly still change on the field, it does not set the dominant recruiting precedent that Head Coach Deion Sanders has fought for.
One such player they feel is skilled enough to make an impact in their squad is wide receiver Quanell Farrakhan Jr. Farrakhan Jr, a four-star Texas native, has also been in close contact with UCLA, Houston, and TCU, but has shown major interest in Colorado. Other programs such as Alabama and Georgia have offered Farrakhan Jr, but have not shown interest.

With a potential commitment from Farrakhan Jr coming in the near future, it is important for the Colorado football staff to find a spot for the receiver. However, that should not be an issue as the blazing fast receiver can consistently come down with the football.
Farrakhan Jr is a talented, all-around receiver and his abilities are hard to miss on the field. The highlights from this past season of the receiver showcase defenders getting burned even when giving five or more yards of space. With his speed also comes his footwork, which allows for lightning fast cuts and shifty moves that most defenders have no chance of stopping.

For the Colorado football staff, the 2025 class is really just getting started as the large majority of the four and five star recruits still have not committed. Colorado has set their sights high after landing a five-star recruit this past recruiting cycle in Jordan Seaton. However, the composite ratings were not good to the Buffaloes, as their 22nd-ranked class held a composite ranking of 81st.
The composite rating takes different factors into account, such as the performances of the recruit and the level of competition. While the composite class ratings were not kind to Colorado last cycle, a different recruiting approach this cycle could certainly change the end result.
The Colorado football staff is focused on finding the most skilled players they can find at each position, even if it means waiting them out for a commitment.
