With the season rapidly approaching, we are starting to see which Ohio State football players are viewed highly by outlets across the country.
The Walter Camp preseason All-American team was released on Monday, and there were five Buckeyes that made the list. Two of them made the first team, while the other three made the second.
As for the rest of the Big Ten, there were three other players that made the first team, and four that made the next list. This just goes to show how talented this Buckeyes team will be this fall.
Find out below which Buckeyes made the Walter Camp preseason All-American Team.
1st team wide receiver Emeka Egbuka
A junior year where Egbuka battled injuries, if he can get back to his sophomore season production (74 catches for 1,151 yards and 13 total touchdowns), he will be an All-American.
1st team defensive tackle Tyliek Williams
Ohio State Buckeyes defensive tackle Tyleik Williams (91) reacts after a defensive stop during the NCAA football game against the Purdue Boilermakers, Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, Ind. Ohio State Buckeyes won 41-7.
Heading into his fourth season, Williams has gotten better every year. Career-high numbers in sacks and tackles in 2023, if he continues the progression, Williams will be an All-American.
2nd team running back Quinshon Judkins
April 13, 2024; Columbus, Ohio, USA;
Ohio State Buckeyes running back Quinshon Judkins (1) of the scarlet team is tagged by cornerback Davison Igbinosun (1) of the grey team during the first half of the LifeSports spring football game at Ohio Stadium on Saturday.
The Ole Miss transfer has back-to-back seasons of over 1,100 rushing yards and 15 total touchdowns. Judkins matches those numbers, or even exceeds them, he’s a shoe-in for national awards.
2nd team defensive back Denzel Burke
Sep 16, 2023; Columbus, Ohio, USA; Ohio State Buckeyes cornerback Denzel Burke (10) stares down Western Kentucky Hilltoppers wide receiver Blue Smith (5) after making a defensive stop during the NCAA football game at Ohio Stadium. Ohio State won 63-10.
A bounce-back year in 2023, saw Burke’s stock rise again. He decided that one more year in Columbus was needed and that could bring All-American honors to him.
Second team defensive back Caleb Downs
Mar 5, 2024; Columbus, OH, USA; Ohio State Buckeyes safety Caleb Downs (2) stretches with wide receiver Kojo Antwi (14) during the first spring practice at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
The second high-profile transfer for the Buckeyes this offseason, Downs in his first year was named a Freshman All-American. Another big season and he could end up replicating his success.
The group
The five could potentially be joined by other Buckeyes as defensive end’s J.T. Tuimoloau and Jack Sawyer could be in for big seasons as well.
