Hawaii’s JJ Mandaquit leads USA to opening victory

Former ‘Iolani guard and Hilo native JJ Mandaquit guided team USA to a 104-81 opening victory over France at the FIBA U17 World Cup in Turkey on Saturday.

Mandaquit got the start and played 18 minutes. Despite not scoring, he dished out five assists.
