During a recent interview with Wisconsin Sports Heroics, Wisconsin football target Kingston Shaw revealed the keys to his recruitment.
Shaw, a 2026 edge rusher from Florida, has recently become a target for the Wisconsin football staff on the recruiting trail. Shaw is a physical monster on the field and loves to play tough, tenacious football against his opponents. The edge rusher has received attention from power conferences since the opening of the contact period, and it seems the biggest offers are still on the horizon.

While the recruitment process is only just starting to heat up for the 2026 recruits, many have already shifted their focus to what they need from a program. For Wisconsin football target and Florida native Kingston Shaw, being successful at the next level is not a want but rather a must.
The 6-foot-4-inch, 225-pound edge rusher has been a dominant force thus far in his football career and will continue to impress. Perhaps the biggest factor behind his success has been his high motor play and tenacity when on the football field. Shaw plays with incredible strength and energy right down to the final minute.
When asked about his style of play, Shaw stated, “I can be a dominant force on the edge as well as a linebacker.”
With his skills on the field, it is no surprise that Shaw already holds eight scholarship offers, including offers from Arkansas and Mississippi State. The edge rusher has also been in contact with Wisconsin, Florida State, Illinois, and West Virginia, but has no received any offers yet.

As one of the newer programs to come in contact with Shaw, the edge rusher was asked about how the early conversations have gone with Wisconsin. Shaw stated, “It’s been going good so far, I have recently received a lot of mail too.” Shaw also added, “I really like the program, there’s good competition in the Big Ten Conference.”
With someone as talented as Shaw setting his sights on playing at the highest levels, playing against the highest levels of collegiate competition is a great start. The edge rusher has displayed great interest in playing in a power conference, along with wanting to play for a strong team.

For Shaw, one of the major aspects of his recruitment is finding somewhere that can take his game to the next level. Shaw is a strong, confident player will all the tools to succeed in college football and beyond, but he also knows he cannot get there alone. Surrounding himself with a great staff and a great environment that can help him push himself and grow at the same time is vital.
