Wisconsin football stayed hot on the recruiting trail today. The Badgers received a commitment from four star offensive lineman Hardy Watts. Watts, one of the top players in Massachusetts, chose Wisconsin football over Clemson and Michigan. This leaves the 2025 recruiting class at 25 commits. Here is where the class sits right now.

According to 247 Sports, Wisconsin football ranks 15th in the country in the 2025 recruiting class. Their 25 commits are one of the larger classes. This ranking could potentially go down as some of the blue bloods only have half the recruits the Badgers have.
In the Big Ten, 247 Sports ranks Wisconsin football tied for fourth with Michigan. Only Ohio State (1), Oregon (5), and Penn State (8) have better ranked classes. USC is 20th overall, just behind the Badgers and Wolverines.
For the 2025 class, Wisconsin football has two 4 star offensive linemen and another three offensive linemen who are almost 4 stars. They could at some point bump up. Luke Fickell and his staff have done an incredible job with this class and position in particular.

I am sure Wisconsin football will continue to be aggressive in the 2025 class to add more players. 25 players is a big class, but Fickell is continuing to add players he wants. It will be his first full season with just about all of his guys. Once 2025 comes around, a majority of his players will be his. We should expect to see classes this high in 2026 and beyond.
Obviously, results matter and this staff will be judges by wins and losses. However, it is very impressive what Fickell and this Wisconsin football staff has done from a recruiting standpoint. They are getting highly ranked players and getting them from blue blood programs and with NIL a top factor for most players. The transfer portal can possess another issue, but this staff has been doing well at getting players from there too.
In this era of college football, it is as hard as ever to compete with blue bloods ans they have the talent, history, and NIL to stay at the top. The Badgers still have a ways to go, but the 2025 class is showing they can compete with the big boys.
