The pageant to decide which Nevada contestant will compete in the National Miss USA took place on Sunday night. Our very own Alexandra Rae proudly represented the community as Miss Reno at the Miss Nevada USA competition in Las Vegas – and ended up placing fourth.
Amidst the chaos of being a full-time breaking news reporter and nightly anchor, Alexandra Rae wore the title of Miss Reno and trained for months on end.
The pageant took place over the weekend and culminated on Sunday night at the Westgate Las Vegas resort and casino.
The dazzling competition consisted of stunning performances, elegant evening gowns and questions from the judges.
The winner, Miss Silver State USA, Najah Ali, took home a $50,000 prize package and will compete at Miss USA in Los Angeles on the CW television network on Sunday, August 4.
A spokesperson for Miss Nevada said that it was incredible that Alexandra placed top five in her first state pageant – and that she made Reno and Nevada proud.
