Vikings Territory works in partnership with PurplePTSD, similarly doing their utmost to put forth excellent Minnesota Vikings content. As a result, we promote what they have to offer in “The View from VT,” a weekly piece. Take a look at five of their articles from the past week.

The View from VT: June 29th, 2024

1) Offensive Lineman Tabbed as Minicamp Standout: Keep in mind that things are still early, so the optimism can’t go too far. Even still, it’s a good sign that Blake Brandel is getting some praise. The versatile veteran is going to have an important job in 2024.

2) Everyone is Saying the Same Thing about One New Viking: Same as the word above. Don’t get carried away. But, to be sure, there’s definitely reason to be excited for what the rookie kicker is capable of doing. In an ideal world, Will Reichard will be the K1 for the next decade.

3) Meet the Vikings 7 New Starters for 2024: It has been an offseason of change. Most prominently, the quarterback and edge rusher positions are looking very different. Kirk Cousins gave way to Sam Darnold. Meanwhile, Danielle Hunter is being replaced by a committee of Jonathan Greenard, Andrew Van Ginkel, and Dallas Turner.

4) Vikings Defender Contradicts Popular Consensus on QB1 Battle: The competition is pretty crowded with four players but there are only a pair of real options: Sam Darnold or J.J. McCarthy. The veteran is the leader. Something very dramatic would need to occur for McCarthy to start in Week 1.

5) 7 Surprise Cut Candidates for Vikings this Summer: Every year, there are surprises. Minnesota is going to need to start making some painful decisions on players brought in by the current regime. The competition in the defensive backfield seems particularly intense.
