Four-Star 2026 Safety Eyeing Hybrid Role In College

Wisconsin football

Following a scholarship offer months ago, the Wisconsin football staff has kept close contact with a four-star 2026 safety.

Keenan Harris, a four-star safety from Missouri, currently holds 23 scholarship offers and has been one of the most recruited defensive backs in the class. While it is still early in his recruitment, the Wisconsin football staff has wanted to develop and maintain a close relationship with Harris. During a recent interview with Wisconsin Sports Heroics, Harris broke down his current recruitment and what his play style as a safety looks like.

After a successful season, the Wisconsin football staff extended an offer to fast-rising 2026 safety Keenan Harris. Harris, a four-star recruit from Missouri, has always dreamed of playing college football and now he has received the attention he longed for. Currently, the safety holds 23 scholarship offers, but that number will likely jump before the start of his next season.

Harris states that he has been in close contact with Missouri, Illinois, Oregon, USC, Ohio State, Nebraska, and Michigan State early on. Harris has also been in contact with multiple Wisconsin football staff members early in his recruitment process. As a native of Missouri in reference to their scholarship offer, Harris stated, “It means a lot and they were my first offer.”

For Harris, as a versatile athlete there are plenty of different ways that he can play safety and still benefit a team. When asked what he is looking to play moving forward, Harris stated, “I really want to play more of a hybrid, but I have the ability to play anywhere on the backend, so I can play mike, will, or sam, safety!”

Harris went on to state, “I think I can do it all so wherever a team really needs me at to get me on the field.”

While Harris is a safety, he is not the traditional type of safety given his set of skills and willingness to play different play styles. When asked about his ability at the position, Harris stated, “I would say that I’m very physical and smart. I can cover and have good speed for how big I am.”

The safety also stated, “I’m like a safety but in a linebacker’s body so it makes things a lot easier for me.”

While it is still early in his recruitment, the Wisconsin football staff hopes to continue to develop a relationship with Harris moving forward. When asked about Wisconsin, Harris stated, “That’s been going well! A couple of people have reached out to me.”

Harris is considered a high-choice recruit for Wisconsin, and has been labeled as a priority target by the staff. The safety plays a style of football that caters perfectly to what the Badgers need on the field moving forward. Harris is going to be a game-changer no matter where he ends up going to school, but the Wisconsin staff is hoping he chooses Madison in the end.
