Ole Miss has their ninth 2025 commit with the recent addition of four-star safety Keon Young. The Lakeland High School prospect chose Ole Miss over his other trending schools, USF and Kentucky. There was also a late push from another of his home state schools, Florida.

Keon Young is ranked the No. 23 safety and No. 244 overall player per the On3 Industry Rankings. He was also ranked the No. 36 prospect out of his home state of Florida.
Ole Miss has landed their fifth four-star prospect from the 2025 recruiting class. The Rebels had fallen to No.20 nationally in team recruiting after several top players committed to teams behind them. However, with the commitment of Keon Young, Ole Miss has moved back up to No. 16 per On3 as of June 2.
Young spoke to On3 after his official weekend visit, praising Coach Golding and the Rebels’ coaching staff.
““I feel Coach Pete [Golding], Coach Brown and Coach Neighbors will put me in the best position to go to the NFL. I can see myself being around all these loving people and having fun for the next three to four years.””

Ole Miss is steadily building a top-tier 2025 recruitment class. Head coach Lane Kiffin is a genius in the transfer portal, so the Rebels look to keep their roster ticking for future years with high school recruits.
The Rebels are currently the No. 16 ranked team in 2025 recruiting. There is still a long way to go until early signing day in December. However, under Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss could potentially have its best recruiting class incoming.
In his second season with the Rebels, Kiffin had his highest finish in team recruiting, ranked No. 17 in 2021. Since then, they have had two No. 20 ranked finishes. As we said, there is still a long way to go, but Ole Miss is also trending positively for more top recruits, especially out of Mississippi.
